African American Museum

This African American Museum was founded in 1976, and it is known for being the first institution built by a major city in the US to interpret, preserve, and exhibit the heritage and culture of African-Americans. This museum takes a look at the African-Americans stories freshly and boldly and how they contributed to building the nation. It is located just a few blocks from the Liberty Bell. It has a rotating calendar of events and programs, and this range from concerts to film screenings, book signings, workshops, etc. They have the full calendar of events on their website.

Allegheny Portage Railroad

This was the first railroad that was constructed in central Pennsylvania through Allegheny Mountains. The railroad was about 36 miles long and was operational from 1834 to 1854. This railroad connected the two sections of Johnstown which were on the west to Hollidaysburg which was on the east, with both being on Pennsylvania Canal. This allowed easy flow of traffic between Susquehanna rivers and Ohio. This site is today operated by the National Park Service. Taking a trip to this place will provide you with a lot more information.

Benjamin Franklin Bridge

The Benjamin Franklin bridge was originally known as the Delaware River Bridge, and it is a suspension bridge that connects Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Camden, New Jersey. It held the record for the longest suspension bridge for some time before Ambassador Bridge in Detroit took the mantle in 1929. There are pedestrian walkways that run along both sides of this bridge, and they have been separated and elevated from the lanes used by vehicles; of these, it only opens one at a time.
